Bertrand Grospellier as 'Elky' PokerStars first ever SuperNova Elite

Before Elky was a world renowned poker player, who regularly cashed in his PokerStars points for Porches’ Elky was the star in a different online game. Elky's was a regular gamer at the World Cyber Games, and in the Korean Pro Gaming League. What did the PokerStars Poker Star play you ask. Well he played many online games, and much like today often found himself in the top ranks. Elky's favorite game according to the PokerStars website was Starcraft. When Elky found poker, he found a way to feed his inner gamer... with cash.

When Elky found online poker at PokerStars he figured out pretty fast that a lot the online gaming skills he'd picked up along the way were easily employed at an online poker table. Elky's online poker career took off like wildfire. The Frenchman began winning money online on a regular basis, becoming one of PokerStars highest cash earners, and eventually the first ever PokerStars SuperNova Elite.

Elky, Becomes Bertand Grospellier

Elky began seriously testing his skills not only as an online poker player, but as a live tournament and cash money poker player as well. Grospellier finished 2nd in the PokerStars.com European Poker Tour event held in Copenhagen during 2007, snagging himself almost $400k. Later during 2007 Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier found himself seated at his first ever World Series of Poker final table. He finished 9th in the $2,500 WSOP No Limit Holdem event, cashing for $29,124.

Elky's biggest win to date happened when the PokerStars player found himself at the 2008 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. 1,013 poker players ponied up the entry fee. Elky finished at the top of the field, winning first place and $2,000,000.

Online, Elky did pretty well at the 2008 PokerStars World Championship of Poker too. The online poker superstar cashed in several events, racking up more than $400,000 in cashes.
In October of 2008, Elky was cleaning up at the World Poker Tour, cashing for $1,411,015 in an event held at the Bellagio in Las Vegas Nevada.
